Peoplesoft HCM Functional Lead
Function as the HR Functional Lead for the implementation of PeopleSoft HCM 9.1 at Chapel Hill, providing, providing the following services:
1. Gather and document requirements, define and document setup and configuration, develop functional specifications, and conduct and facilitate fit/gap analysis.
2. Manage the functional areas to ensure that Core HR, Payroll and Benefits complete fit-gap and meet schedule objectives
3. Provide application functionality expertise for the Core HR module, including basic setup, Personal Data, Job Data, Position Management, and Compensation, with additional focus on Learning Management and Profile Management. Ensure that the business office customers fully understand the impact of decisions to Business Processes made during fit-gap on any of the modules in scope.
4. Advise project team on best practices related to configuration and setup of the modules above, assist in making the best strategic configuration decisions.
5. The contractor is expected to work a 40 hour week Monday through Friday (8 Hours per day) or Monday through Thursday (10 hours per day). Local candidates should expect to work Monday through Friday.
6. The contractor will be expected to provide complete knowledge transfer to project team members to cover the work completed prior to the end of the contract.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
A minimum of 7 years of in-depth Business Systems Analyst experience with Oracle PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM is required, and preference is for candidates with at least 2 years of implementation experience with version 8.9 or greater at Higher Education institutions. This experience should have been gained working on implementation project teams, spanning multiple full lifecycle implementation projects. Expert knowledge of PeopleSoft HRMS data structures, configuration and setup designs, and business processes within the application is required. Candidates shall have significant experience in the following areas, preferably at Higher Education institutions:
1. Implementation of the following HCM functionality: Core HR module, including basic setup (including SETID and multiple Business Units), Personal Data/POI, Job Data (with multiple jobs), SmartHire Templates and Manager Self-Service, Position Management, and Compensation. Experience with Benefits Administration, North American Payroll, or Commitment Accounting, Talent Management (including Profile Management), particularly where integrated or related to Core HR is a plus.
2. Working with business offices to gather requirements and map them to configuration design and functional specifications.
3. Business process analysis and reengineering, focusing on achieving best practices in PeopleSoft HCM while analyzing and documenting the impact of process changes to the customers.
4. Monitoring and Conducting fit-gap analysis between requirements and delivered functionality to determine the need for business process change or customization.
5. Working directly with developers to ensure that functional and technical specifications for customizations meet business requirements.
Familiarity with Oracle/PeopleSoft development technologies (PeopleCode, Application Designer, Component Interface, Application Engine) sufficient to collaborate effectively with developers is desired. Excellent analytical, organizational, verbal and written communications skills are required.
