Programmer Analyst

 Duties / Responsibilities

We are searching for a Programmer Analyst to join our client’s growing team.  Duties of the Programmer Analyst include:

• Developing an understanding of mill processes to serve as a resource within IT for mill-related information 
• Working with users and teammates in full life-cycle development, including gathering requirements, developing the applications and supporting the applications in production
• Developing applications in C# and PHP with a Microsoft SQL Server database backend
• Creating and maintaining documentation of existing and future systems
• Working with IT staff and users as required in order to resolve issues 
• Promoting strong, customer-service focused operations 

Mandatory Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications for the position include:

• Minimum of 5 years work experience in IT related field
•  Design, development and administration experience with Microsoft SQL Server or equivalent level database server
• Development experience with object-oriented development language
• Experience with Microsoft desktop and server operating systems
• Knowledge of and experience with C#, PHP, and .Net
• Must be available to work on a rotating on-call basis, including nights and weekends

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:

• 4 year degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
• Manufacturing-related IT experience, with a preference for process-related industries similar to the steel environment
• Knowledge of and experience with SQL Server and/or DB2/400
• Experience with other systems, i.e. Unix, Linux, very helpful
